Spring is trying to break threw, but the winter pattern is hanging on, with 1 strong cold front a week. When the weather does cooperate the Snook are responding well. It won’t be long before things really get good. Check out the picture of the biggest Snook of my career, caught in the 10,000 Islands on a recent 1/2 day trip on live bait. 42″ (30lbs)
The fishing around Marco Island, Naples and Everglades Park is off the charts! The Redfish have show up in schools, with the average size 4 – 6 lbs, with some bigger ones mixed in. It is now common to catch 10 – 20 reds on a half day trip, with a good tide in your favor. Still plenty of Snook and Mangrove Snapper as well. Bait is thick and morning weather has been good, so get out early and hang on.
Fishing around Marco Island , Naples and Everglades has been off the charts. Bait of all sizes has invaded the area, with a lot of quality Snook and Redfish along with it. The action on light tackle has been great. There have also been good number of big Permit and Pompano around on the high tide and calm wind days. The next 10 weeks are going to be stellar !
June and July Snook fishing has shown signs of a good comeback. We have found good numbers of Snook with Reds and etc mixed in.
Very good Spring. Lots of bait. It’s been a great Tarpon season. All around great fishing.
